Hi Dodino Island!

Let's make a party, we're near to unlock all the goals from the 2nd Wave of SG we revealed. So, we're preparing a party!

During these amazing days we have received a lot of surprises from the Rooooarmy... Maybe reaching the 200,000 goal is possible before the final 48hrs. What do you think? Can we reach within the next 2 days the upgraded projectiles and a big box thats fit all the great stuff you have unlocked? 

We plan the big box to be able to contain sleeved cards and the Kux & Babbey miniature. More about this in a future update.

We hope we can reach them.  For the party we will prepare more chairs for the table. Have you ever been in a party and suddenly something shiny emerges from the cake? We are not talking about the Detestable single party, we're thinking in something more stunning... so, again, take your sit; as you can see there are enough chairs (+3030), wait for your piece of cake.

And now, time to introduce you an infallible one:

 As you already know, all dodos have the name of the real-life discoverer or someone who studied the genus of that dodo’s dinosaur.

Since the first time we saw the sketch for Tracy we loved it, that personality with the moving tail is so adorable!

The 3030 Milestone

Hi Dodino Island,

Numbers are important; 911 call for help, 007 leads you to action, 2077 is about cyberpunk, 3.1416 is for Pi and 3030 gives a lot of joy to the Detestable team.

3030 is an important number for the team. Since the beginning we were convinced Dodos riding Dinos (called MicroKart in 2017) was a great product that we should make it a reality. Before launching the campaign in the middle of this pandemic, we had many doubts about the response in Kickstarter. After Day-1, we aimed to reach the number 3030. And now, we are here!

Why is this number so important for us? As you already know, we're from Mexico and 3030 backers makes Dodos riding Dinos the project with the most backers since Kickstarter opened its offices in our country back in 2016. Thank you all for making this possible!

Just last month, our sister company Lair, which is also part of Draco Studios group, held the 1st place with Legendary Dragons 3D; we know there are some backers in common from that and other projects of Draco Studios. Thank you all for your continuous support! You are in the most backed campaigns from Mexico. 

For celebrating this milestone we'll show you the dino racer we have been working on. The time has finally come to reveal the machine on which chicken Nicholas has been working after building all those cannons for Krakatoa... 

 Yes, chicken Nicholas joins the race with this mechanical dino which us part of the Add-on that will be available in the Pledge Manager. "Mecha Chicken Dimetrodon" is a crossover guest for Dodos riding Dinos and will be a machine that players can build in War for Chicken Island. What do you think? Do you like it? 

Currently, the Add-on includes:

• "Oby & The JJJ's" card as a Leader in War for Chicken Island.
• Krakatoa & Cannons card as a runner for the Dodo Eggthrone in Dodos riding Dinos.
• Mecha Chicken Dimetrodon miniature, compatible with 2 cards for both games, DrD and WFCI.
• "Dinos and Dodos running from extinction. The definitive survival guide book." Digital PDF download. 

We are still waiting for our manufacturer quote for this add-on but this will be available in the pledge manager so we can offer ir to you at the best possible price. Please help us achieve that and keep the project finances healthy for all by waiting until the pledge manager to add funds instead that in your Kickstarter pledge. After all we are about to unlock all Stretch Goals including those from wave 2 which were new unolanned stretch goals. For wave 3 we have a couple of final ideas. 

 And now, let us introduce you another dodino couple:

 This was the first character we recieved from the art team and the first to receive a name (with the idea of having the dodo be named after the real-life discoverer of the dino).

Spike got its name because of its tail. Draco Studios indicated the art team to color these dino characters with fun and different colors so painting the miniatures could be fun for players.

And speaking of painting minis here is an example for a painted Marsh & Spike 3D prints. They were made by backer Sebastien Jabb. He help us for making a test print to validate the STL files for the community. We think Jabb did an awesome work! 

We're getting ready for the final sprint. You've showed your Super Dino Love changing your names with the "Backing Dodos riding Dinos" phrase. Please choose your favorite dodino Avatars for your profile!

Together we can beat de $200,000 mark, and who knows, maybe we could have one, or two (maybe three) super shiny party with greater surprises. Continue spreading the Roooooaaaar!!!

By the way, today is William‘s birthday (he is the main advisor of all Kickstarter campaigns from Draco Studios group and sometimes offers advice to other Mexican Kickstarter creators). Today he turns 30. Was this a elaborated birthday plan around the 3030? What do you think? Coincidence or destiny? Congratulations William!

Hi Dodino Island,

Thank you! You're tireless, and yet another Strech Goal achieved. Colored minis will allow players who are not into miniature painting to have better-looking minis and for kids to find their character easier in the board. Speaking of colors, now, we would like to talk about what may be the last trail –it's up to you, show us we can go further!

 We can agree that the rainbows are beautiful, but in the Dodino Landscape the aurora borealis are even more amazing.

Years of running in our favorite Kart-racing videogame have taught us that the light trails are the toughest and only the pros with top skills can master them. They're too risky because you can fall at any moment and you have to be well prepared for amazing tricks.

In this trail, dinos and their dodos must perform jumps using the diamond ramps and be very careful, because if they are hit by a projectile in a dexterity shot, there's a chance of falling down the road. If you fall, you will come back some spaces behind.

Let's reach this stretch goal and let us design a beautiful aurora borealis board for Dodino Island!

We are still waiting for an update from the factory to review the possibility of foam projectiles as well as the pricing for the new addon.

Some of you, our dino runners in our ROARMY have been asking us to introduce more about the core game characters:

 Since the beginning we have known that all our Dodos should have the name from the real-life discoverer or someone related to the studies of that dinosaur species. Osborn is no exception.

Rey is Spanish for King. That's where Reynaldo's name comes from.

2541 spoilers!!!

Hi Dino Riders,

Today Dodos Riding Dinos got the same backer-count as War for Chicken Island, 2541! Here are the spoilers spotted by some dinos in Dodino Island about the upcoming Add-On we are working on.

First, your favorite Fat Dodo "Oby" seems to be pulled by Joh, Jab & Jun somewhere else in Creature Kingdoms. They arrived to Chicken Island and the add-on will include their card to become a Leader in War for Chicken Island. Here's a sneak peek:

Perhaps you could deduce the logical step: "Too obvious, a Chicken Leader from War for Chicken Island will have its card to join the race". Well, some dinos didn't see that coming and have spotted a strange crack with magma and fire in a particular region of Dodino island along with strange activities...

This was meant to be revealed at 2541, but a particular dino made signals asking for some time because its dodo discovered something else... 

It seems Krakatoa didn't arrive alone, there's another chicken nearby. The dodotective suspects that the chicken is related to the appearance of strange machines in Dodino Island. 

With a deeper investigation, the dodotective discovered a relation between time, backers and chicken Nicholas' activities.

We can only conclude that chicken Nicholas' pattern of behavior is: while the number of backers continue to increase, it will keep building more and more machines. The greatest evidence is that there is a bunch of cannons already built for Krakatoa.

Krakatoa will be a very cool racer for Dodos Riding Dinos (and its miniature has been approved by Draco Studios as a sturdy one to receive impacts). At the beginning of his turn, Krakatoa will place a cannon and at the end of the Running Phase all cannons will fire. An interesting mechanic for a fire controller and it is a good thing that Krakatoa is fire-resistant too; Krakatoa may not be riding a dino but he counts with the impulse from the cannons to make up for the lack of a dino runner (thematically). Could Krakatoa be the winner of the Dodosaurus egg-throne? As if becoming ruler of Chicken Island was not enough. Don't worry, Dino runners can use their dexterity skills to destroy the cannons.  

What a blast!!! ... Literally, for Krakatoa.  

But seriously, why is chicken Nicholas still building? Maybe these add-on crossover cards to use some of your miniatures in both games includes something new? Hmmm it seems we have to wait a little longer for Nicholas to finish building it (no, really, we are waiting for the artist to finish the concept and the factory to quote before we unleash this add-on that will be available in the pledge manager for all backers). 

What's in the works includes something we are creating, once again, based in your ideas and enthusiasm. So the art and quote request were just sent last week. We know you will love it and can't wait to read your best guess.

Hi Dodino Island, 

Today we have a guest from Chicken Island, Dragon Mamma is visiting us to say Happy Mother's Day.

Mother's Day is a perfect holiday to remember our big brother War for Chicken Island. You know why, don‘t you?... Hmmm... Ok. Because when we reach 2541 backers in the Dodos riding Dinos campaign (same backer-count as War for Chicken Island Kickstarter campaign), we will reveal a surprise Add-On we are preparing for celebrating this milestone. Spread the word and let’s reach 2541 backers!

Keep the Social Goals going! We need more Super Dino Love support!

Together we unlocked a big big stretch goal and there are new ones in the line. 

3 more Power Up cards for the Dodo Cup Mode will be available in our next stop. Remember these cards will have perks you'll be able to gain during the trails and use them in the following race. We're still receiving suggestions. Leave them in the main comments section!

Then, the different Colored Minis will arrive. There were comments about having plastic rings instead colored minis, but the publisher (Draco Studios) decided different colored minis are better fit for the product. More appealing for kids, plus the colors of the minis should match its respective meeple (and card) colors. And most importantly, since not all players are into miniatures painting, at least this way the minis are easily distinguished and have more table presence, allowing players to find their minis faster in the board. 

In the same colorful way, nearly to the end of the rainbow we'll discover something better than a gold chest, there will be an ultimate trail for true Dino Racers, a challenge only the better ones could beat. Are you ready to fall in love with this beauty?

Ok,ok, we know you're here for seeing the casting winner and it's seems we only are adding content for gaining time and lead this update to extra innings.

As usual, the Dodo is named after the real-life discoverer or someone who studied the dinosaur; in this case, the Compaognathus. And the dinos’ are named after some very enthusiastic backers so you all can remember that this miniature was created thanks to all of you, our beloved backers who requested a fat dodo pulled by small dinosaurs! We can’t wait to see the sculpted miniature!

Just imagine these Compsognathus winning the race and claiming the Dodosaurus Egg-Throne and sharing Obendorfer as their cute Dodo Crown. Magnificent sight for all Dodino inhabitants!

Keep spreading the Rooooooaaaarrr!!! Nobody knows how far the Dodino Island can go!!!
